Hello you,
This year I went to a pumpkin patch for the first time. With all things covid It seemed like a simple, safe but fun outing for myself and my partner. We actually ending up going on our anniversary weekend so it felt extra special.
Having never done it, neither of us knew what to expect… other than an abundance of pumpkins to choose from and some photo opportunities! Well we quickly learnt 5 useful lessons…
- Wellies and Boots only… anything else just isn’t going to cut it
- Pumpkins are heavy – very heavy
- A wheelbarrow is all fun and games until its loaded with pumpkins
- The ground is not flat
- Pumpkin storks are prickly
Despite having underestimated the efforts of pumpkin picking we had a blast and my partner, bless him, did all the hard work. Posing for that picture with an empty wheel barrow was the only time I touched the thing! My poor dinosaur arms couldn’t take it.

I went in search of white pumpkins, of course you can paint an orange one as an arty alternative which would also be a great way to spend a rainy autumn afternoon. Head to Pinterest for all of the creative inspo you could ever dream of!
It was a great experience, we ended up taking home six pumpkins which cost £20. A little more than I’d spend usually but it’s a great day out and you can pick the cutest ones for great autumnal photoshoots.
Any hamster owners out there, little munchkin pumpkins make the perfect treat + boredom breaker for your fury friend. Just cut the top off and let them at it! It is great for their teeth and keeps them busy for ages, just don’t leave them for too long… you know how carried away they will get if you let them.
Maybe consider giving it a go this year, even if you don’t buy any pumpkins theres usually places to sit, you can go for a walk or just enjoy watching other people battle the pumpkins!
I am back to work today (after two weeks holiday a.k.a study madness) and have been reflecting on the past week. Today as some of you know is my favourite day of the week and I am starting to think it would be the perfect day to post. I would love to post more regularly but my final year of uni is taking a great deal of my time + brain power! But I hope you can all still enjoy the content I will post every Sunday.
I hope you are having a great Sunday x

Loving these gorgeous pumpkins!!😍🎃
