Hello Christmas.

Hello you and happy Sunday,

Lately my anxiety has been kicking my butt…With all thats going on in the world, the pressure of uni and just being in a state of not-knowing I thought it best to bring Christmas a little closer. The process of doing so went a little like this…

Sunday 18th October

I started the day with a deep clean of my partners room which is an amazing distraction for me… i wouldn’t go as far as to say it is a stress reliever but it definitely keeps my mind busy for a while!

After a lovely roast dinner I spent the evening pulling together my Christmas playlist for this year as we watched Dr. Seuss’ The Grinch. I am a great lover of How The Grinch Stole Christmas (2000) so this new one was never going to beat it for me but it is definitely worth the watch. I think it is aimed at a younger audience but you cannot deny the Christmas feels! And if you haven’t seen either of them I beg you, please do… it is a staple for my families Christmas.

Monday 19th October

Monday, for me, was December 1st. I took a few hours out of my day to try out my new playlist and decorate my room. The last few years I have treated myself to a brushed cotton bedding set and have 0 regrets… they are the softest sheets I own and I had to go ahead and buy a Christmas one for this year.

I have linked as much as I could find, bellow, just in case something caught your eye.

Wreath + Garland – I ordered both of these last month from Matalan but they have vanished from the website! So sorry! There are so many beautiful ones out there this year though.

Snow globe – this was a gift from my partner last year from TKmaxx and with all of their stock its there one moment and gone the next!

I do this every year, never this early, and each time it’s a bit bittersweet because once it is done, it is done. I enjoy doing it so much I get a tiny bit sad when I’ve placed the final bauble or turned on the last light.

I went ahead and decorated super early this year simply because I truly do wish it was Christmas every day. There is such a special feeling that comes with the entire season that I cannot find in anything else. And this year I think we could all do with the joy of the season lasting that little bit longer.

Christmas will definitely look different this year but I will hold it in my heart just the same.

“I will honour Christmas in my heart, and try to keep it all the year. I will leave in the Past, the Present, and the Future. The Spirits of all Three shall strive within me. I shall not shut out the lessons that they teach.”

Name that book!

I hope you are all having a good Sunday x

  1. Fantastic, good for you, if you really like Christmas that much then why not have it all year round, leave the Christmas decorations up for a whole year, give your partner a wrapped present each and every day of the year, have fun with every, dance to musicals , them films they put on every Christmas time, enjoy your life, stop the depression of the virus that changed our world, enjoy everything thats good in the world, tell a stranger you love them, i love you my beautiful blog friend ❤

      1. Do what makes you relaxed …
Get enough sleap and even small naps when you can …
Spend time outside in natilure in your holidays or free time …
If you have not read the power of now by Eckhart Tolle, I recommend it or at least listen to it on youtube …
The return to love by Mariana williamson is also a good audiobook version on youtube …

  2. It sure is a bit early for christmas decorations but who cares? As long as you feel happy and it brings joy to you. I also love this time of the year, sadly it all revolves around buying gifts and all but there’s still the special feeling.

    1. I think the present side of Christmas is the last thing on my list as far as the things i love about it. I try very hard to get others to see beyond the gifts… following the wise lessons preached by The Grinch!
